Executives attribute the decline to tariff impacts, inventory adjustments, and the rollout of upgraded models, signaling a transitional period for the brand.

The upcoming PHEV is viewed as a pivotal step in Lotus’s strategy, as confirmed by CEO Qingfeng Feng during an earnings call on November 24, 2025. While the model’s official name remains undisclosed, it is expected to be a hybrid variant of the Eletre SUV.

Test sightings in China confirm the development of the Eletre PHEV, identifiable by its fuel door, charging port cover on the rear fenders, and exhaust pipe. The vehicle is expected to utilize Lotus’s 900V high-voltage system, offering a combined range of approximately 1,100 km (684 miles).

Given Lotus’s ownership under Geely, powertrain components are likely to be sourced from Horse Powertrain, a joint venture between Geely, Renault, and Aramco. This collaboration positions Lotus to leverage advanced hybrid technology while streamlining production costs.
