BYD has unveiled the Han L, a new electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show. The Han L boasts a 701 km CLTC range for the EV variant and an impressive 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.7 seconds, positioning it as a high-performance competitor in the EV market. Prices start at approximately $27,400 USD, extending up to $37,200 USD after subsidies.

Exterior Design and Technology

The Han L features a modern design with a sculpted hood, futuristic LED lighting, and flush door handles. Notably, the vehicle integrates a roof-mounted laser LiDAR unit, signaling a strong push toward advanced autonomous driving capabilities. New color options include olive green and Xizi blue, complemented by sporty details like blacked-out badges, matte-black wheels, and yellow brake calipers. At the rear, full-width taillights and a diffuser-like bumper enhance the vehicle’s aggressive aesthetic.

Interior and Driver Assistance Systems

Inside, the Han L adopts a family-oriented layout with a three-spoke steering wheel and a fully digital instrument cluster. All models come equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye B” (DiPilot 300) laser-assisted driving system, providing city and highway navigation support.

Powertrain Options and Performance

The Han L offers both PHEV and pure-electric powertrains. The PHEV combines a 1.5T engine with dual 200 kW motors, delivering a 200 km electric range and a 3.9-second 0–100 km/h time. The EV version comes in single- or dual-motor configurations, with a combined output reaching 810 kW, achieving a 2.7-second acceleration and a top speed of 305 km/h. The EV uses an 83.2 kWh battery on BYD’s Super e 1,000-volt platform, offering a 701 km range in rear-wheel-drive models and 601 km in all-wheel-drive versions.

Sales Incentives and Limited-Time Offers

BYD is offering seven purchase incentives for buyers who order before December 31, totaling up to $7,300 USD in benefits. A limited-time styling package, originally priced at $1,830 USD, is now available for $700 USD and includes exclusive paint options, a floating black roof, sport trim, and upgraded brakes.

The introduction of the Han L underscores BYD’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of EV performance and technology. With its impressive range, acceleration, and advanced driver-assistance features, the Han L is poised to attract consumers seeking both luxury and cutting-edge innovation in their next vehicle.
