Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid Gets a Price Cut for 2026

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) will start at $42,920, making it $2,340 cheaper than the outgoing model. This reduction in price, coupled with performance upgrades and expanded trim availability, positions the RAV4 PHEV as an increasingly compelling option in the compact SUV market.

Pricing and Trim Levels

The base SE trim of the 2026 RAV4 PHEV begins at $42,920, including the $1,420 destination fee. For comparison, the 2023 model started at $45,260 with a $1,395 destination fee. Toyota is also offering the PHEV powertrain in new Woodland and GR Sport trims. The Woodland PHEV starts at $46,720, while the performance-focused GR Sport variant comes in at $49,920. The XSE trim remains, now priced at $48,620 — a $500 reduction from the previous generation.

Performance and Range Improvements

The 2026 RAV4 PHEV boasts a combined output of 324 horsepower from its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and dual electric motors, an increase of 22 horsepower over the previous model. More significantly, the all-electric range extends to 50 miles, up from 42 miles in the 2023 PHEV. Woodland and XSE models now include DC fast-charging capability, enabling an 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes.

Hybrid-Only Standard Model

For buyers not seeking the plug-in option, Toyota offers a standard hybrid version of the 2026 RAV4. Powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, it delivers 226 horsepower and achieves up to 41 mpg. Pricing for the standard hybrid ranges from $33,350 for the base LE trim to $44,750 for the top-tier Limited model.

The 2026 Toyota RAV4’s across-the-board price reductions and performance enhancements make it a standout value in the compact SUV segment. The plug-in hybrid now offers more power, range, and efficiency at a lower cost, solidifying Toyota’s position as a leader in electrified vehicle options.
